Joshua Tree (again)

This is not a duplicate entry. Don't hit the back button, stay right where you are. I had so much fun in Joshua Tree last weekend, I had to go back. But this time with the Cuevas Clan. Jon was happy he had people to climb rocks with. I'm just happy I wasn't bit by the snake we saw. TWICE! Ugh.

Thanks for looking. Hopefully next time I'm in Joshua Tree it's for a weekend camping trip instead of just a day (but I ain't complaining). Also offer still stands, if any of y'all need a photographer for your next family vacation, camping trip, outing, whatever, I got you.

EDIT: I decided to add more pictures because after looking at these, I felt like the ones originally posted were just bleh. So here you go, enjoy more.

Joshua Tree

Friday night we were trying to figure out what we were going to do for Jasmine's bday. Originally the plan was to go to the Ren Faire but it wasn't looking like too good so we were coming up with alternate ideas. LACMA maybe? Salton Sea? The beach? And then my mom had said something about all National Parks were offering free admission for the weekend. We jokingly said we should make a quick Yosemite trip (well I said it jokingly, but if anyone agreed, I would have gone for sure). I brought up either Sequoia, Death Valley, or Joshua Tree (I've never been to any of them). Realizing Joshua Tree was significantly closer, I had increased my push for that idea. My mom and sister didn't need too much convincing.

I've noticed that anytime I come across a dog lately, I stop and
take a picture or two. (send me pictures of your dogs!!!!)

Thanks for looking-- I'll be back with another post when I have some more photos to share. Any ideas of what/who/where I should go shoot next?
Also, if any of my readers are planning a [camping] trip and want a photographer to tag along to capture all the fun times, holler at ya boy.

Baseball Stuff

So I've been back here in Southern California for almost a week now (it'll be exactly a week at 11:05p PDT) and in that week I've already been to/photographed three baseball games (with a fourth coming tomorrow).

I've never considered myself a sports photographer-- I've never had any training or instruction on it, but I kinda fell into the role at Fullerton College. Long story short, I got hired to do football pictures after working my way onto the sidelines and the college liked my stuff. Fast forward to a few years later and I went out to take pictures of the baseball team one day for fun and I fell in love.

Baseball is my favorite sport to shoot, hands down. My only complaint is I wish I could physically be closer to the action, but I'll take what I can get-- I aint tryna get hit with any baseballs. Shooting baseball is very relaxing and therapeutic (if you will) for me. The pace of the game, the routine/habits, the process, the camaraderie, all of it just really resonates with me and calms me down. I LOVE SHOOTING BASEBALL. Sometimes it's hard because you get stuck in a slump and feel like you're just taking the same photos over and over again, but I like the challenge of showing up to the same place repeatedly and trying to get different results. Sometimes I'm successful and sometimes I'm definitely not. Anyhow, here are some of my favorite shots from the past week of baseball:

Thanks for looking-- I'm sure there will be plenty more baseball pictures coming in the future (especially with Opening Day just a week away now!!!!)!
